What is the Newfoundland and Labrador Lumber Producers
Association? (NLLPA)
The NLLPA is a non-profit organization
representing commercial sawmill operations and timber harvesters in Newfoundland
and Labrador. It’s members constitute 70% of the sawmill industry. The
association's primary aim is to promote and facilitate the economic development
and viability of the forest products industry.
Since 1983 we have introduced lumber
grading in the Province and are one of 17 grading agencies in Canada licensed to
train and supervise graders for the application of the National Lumber Grade
Authority Standards.
The NLLPA owns and operates a saw filing
and repair shop at its headquarters in Glovertown, Newfoundland.
