The Western Newfoundland Model Forest partnership is one of a
network of Model Forests established across Canada in 1992. The Western
Newfoundland Model Forest consists of a partnership of diverse stakeholders of
which the Forest Resources is one. We are
dedicated to the sustainability of our natural forest resources for the benefit
and use of all residents, both now and in the future. Its vision is to manage
our use of the forests to sustain biodiversity and provide benefits including
employment, recreation and a healthy environment. The Model Forest provides a
forum where diverse interests can work together to develop new and innovative
ways to manage the forests of the Province.
