Current

  • Metallogenic studies of iron ore deposits in western Labrador, including origin of high grade DSO deposits and regional studies of taconite and metataconite deposits.

  • Gold mineralization in central Newfoundland: perspectives from fluid inclusion, sulphur isotope and 40Ar/39Ar geochronology.
  • Paleoproterozoic Mississippi Valley Type Pb-Zn mineralisation in the Ramah Group, Northern Labrador.
  • Granite-hosted Mo-mineralization along the Appalachian-Caledonian Orogen.
  • The origin of hydrothermal dolomitizing fluids in western Newfoundland.
  • Fluid inclusion and diagenetic studies of potential hydrocarbon reservoirs in western Newfoundland.
  • Sedimentological, diagenetic and fluid history of reservoir sandstones from North Atlantic offshore basins (e.g. Hopedale Basin, Jeanne D’Arc Basin, North Sea, Porcupine Basin).

Research Interests

  • Economic geology, ore deposit genesis, geochemistry of hydrothermal systems.
