A landslide occurred west of Petries Crossing, Curling, and slid 150 feet towards the water. An A-frame storehouse was carried on the crest of the landslide about 100 feet downslope and ended up a broken wreck. One boat was half buried and another ended up in the water, but with no damage. The road was closed for three days. The slide occured late Monday night May 22, 1950.
