Rocks and boulders slid down the slope of the hill onto Queen Street Extension, blocking it for about 200 feet, a threat to motorists and pedestrians. The Municipality closed the road, and bought the problem to the attention of the Provincial Government, who had built the road in 1956. A retaining wall was proposed to keep the rocks and boulders from falling on the road. Rock falls had been occuring continuously since the road was constructed.
