Gravel from the excavation site of a new high school was dumped on the edge of Bell's Hill and a landslide resulted, probably due to the additional load on the slope. There were no injuries but the slide caused gaping cliffs to be left in the hill and presented city engineers with the problem of preventing further collapse of the slope.
