Just before the Friday afternoon rush hour, a 200m section of cliff slid off the hill and spilled over the east bound lane about a half mile west of the Harbour Drive access. A yellow courier van just made it through. Approximately 1500 tons of rock fell from the cliff and it took two days to clear the road. This is the second slide in this area in less than two years. The freeze thaw cycle and steeply dipping bedrock are being blamed for the rock slide.
